John 7:24
“Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment.”
We people are great commentators and criticizers; we easily can see the others fault rather than seeing what could be positive on them. The most common thing we do is this: riding on the train or on the bus going home from work or school then a person who is not so fashionable according to our fashion sense came in and ride the bus you were in, so as human and as part of our natural characteristic we tend to judge the person from the style of his/her hair, the color and style of the clothes he/she wear, the shoes on his feet, the color of eyes, the number of pimples on his/her face, the person’s cellular phone, their bag, the way he react on things, his expressions, how he/she stands, and even the colors of the nails that person has. So eventually with those things we recognize and criticized we did not recognize that we fall into sin by simply saying that the color of her dress doesn’t fit her skin tone with sarcastic intonation of voice. We don’t realize that the person we criticize is not required to meet our high standards of living and no one requires them to please us. They can actually wear any color or style they want. When we see the fault of our officemate or classmate we as human falling into sin tend to judge in a ways we never knew. Like when she lied to you and you don’t tell her fault to her but instead you’re looking for sympathy from others by telling them what she had done to you in a wrong manner you actually disobeying God’s command in Matthew 18:15 saying that “if your brother sin against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you”.
We tend to judge through appearance, through how they wear their dress. We judge wrongly and not giving ourselves a chance to even know the person. We judge without even realizing that God accepted us the way we are, we judge without even realizing that God accepted everyone the way they really are, that Jesus died on the cross not only for fashionista’s but also for unfashionable once, Jesus died not for handsome and gorgeous man and lady alone but also for those who are not really blessed with looks. Jesus died for “EVERYONE”. So whenever you are in the situation that you are about to judge a person on the train your in, or on the bus your in, just remember one bow can avoid you to sin. Just one bow down your head, looking on the floor and not looking at the person may avoid the cause of sin. So whenever we bow down your head you should pray that God may say to you what to do in that situation. So let us remember to bow down in times of need.
Matthew 7:3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eyes and pay no attention to the plank in your own eyes”
