President Benigno Aquino III marking his first year!

Marking his first year in office, President Benigno Aquino III said that his “greatest achievement” so far was the transformation in people’s attitude from apathy to that of caring and active citizens.

“Before, there was resignation, dejection and apathy,” the President told reporters.

“If you remember at the time, you were writing about the people’s apathy and numbness, as if they did not expect anything from their government. They were blasé to scandals that were being unearthed,” he said.

“Now, more people are expectant that their lives are changing for the better,” Mr. Aquino said.

He said growing demands for change from the people were a good thing.

Mr. Aquino won the presidency pledging to crush corruption and reduce poverty. But he has seen his public approval ratings drop in recent months, which analysts say reflects popular disappointment over the slow pace of progress.

“I am aware that you have given me a passing mark, but that you expect perfection from me. That is good in a way so it would push us to intensify our efforts,” he said.

Rock bands

At the Philippine Sports Arena (formerly Ultra) in Pasig City, the celebration of his first year in office was marked with speeches from local officials and music from rock-rap bands like Gloc 9 and even a song sang and composed by actor Cesar Montano—all calling for people to be united behind the administration.

But Mr. Aquino’s speech was not music to the ears of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who he said was “blind and deaf to the people’s cries.”

He said uncovering scams and fixing problems left behind by his predecessor continued to be the preoccupation of his administration.

He pointed out the Arroyo administration left agencies like the National Food Authority (NFA) with billions of pesos.

He said that NFA debts rose from P18 billion in the first year of Arroyo as president to a whopping P177 billion in her last year in office.

PCSO scam

He also mentioned the scam uncovered at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), noting that the Arroyo administration had spent more money to “advertise the face of politicians on television but had no money to pay for the P3 billion it owes to government hospitals.”

“Because of this debt that could not be paid, because of corruption the hospitals that the government provides funds for does not longer want to accept guarantees from its fellow government office,” Mr. Aquino said.

Gloria Arroyo my opposite

He said unearthing this kind of irregularity was the change that his administration continued to push for.

“I will no longer spend time clashing with them. I thank Arroyo for admitting that she is my opposite. At last, on this point we have come to an agreement,” he said.

The President was reiterating a statement he made last week after Arroyo said that the gains of her presidency were in danger of being eroded because there was “nobody-home” in the new administration.

Responding to Arroyo’s tirade against him, Mr. Aquino said his administration had done a lot to help the people. He said he would let the people respond to the charges hurled against him that he did not do enough for them.

Housing, cash transfer

These include the 21,800 families of policemen and soldiers who will have decent homes before the year ends, the 2 million poor families set to benefit from the conditional cash transfer program and the 240,000 farmers who will benefit from 2,000-kilometer farm-to-market roads finished in just one year, Mr. Aquino said.

“Isn’t it clear that there is change?” he said.

More funds saved

He said that because of reforms in the government financial system, the government was able to save funds more than the amounts allocated by the General Appropriations Act to implement programs, the President said.

These include providing P12 billion for the “Pantawid Pasada” for transport workers affected by high oil prices, he said.

“Housing, rice, security, salaries, roads, Pantawid Pasada and other lifeguards for the people drowning from poverty. These are the changes that we are reaping now,” he said.

All these became possible because the President said his administration “went after the crooks in government, fixed the government’s finances and crooked system.”

He said the country made considerable progress in just one year and that it could move further in the next five years of his watch.

Mr. Aquino did not want to comment when asked what grade he would give his administration in its first year.

“With our mandate from the people, and our commitment to uphold our people’s expectation that they are our boss, the Aquino administration will not be cowed. We are living in a different neighborhood now, where our people are assured that justice is being served; and where those responsible for the suffering we have all endured for almost a decade will be held accountable,’’ presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said in a statement.

“We have already begun to establish the necessary reforms and no amount of naysaying will derail us from the straight and righteous path. If anything, these orchestrated attacks against the accomplishments of this new system of good governance only strengthen our resolve to continue building on our successes of the past year,’’ Lacierda also said.

Credit rating upgrade

Lacierda summed up the achievements of the administration, which he said included “several upgrades in our credit ratings landmark policies and laws for economic and political reform, increased private domestic investments, hundreds of thousands of jobs generated leading to a decrease in unemployment.”

He said these were “proof that our people’s optimism is well founded.”

Move forward

Continually blaming the Arroyo administration for the country’s troubles did not sit well with some people.

While Gordon Alan Joseph, president of the Cebu Business Club, believed that the corruption in the past should be investigated to give justice to every Filipino, it was time for the President to move forward.

“He must start showing his leadership now. He has to perform and shouldn’t just keep on blaming the previous President,” Joseph said.

Joseph said he saw honesty in the Aquino administration but added that this was not enough.

While giving Mr. Aquino a passing grade in his first year of office, he asked him to perform instead of blaming the previous administration.

Joseph said his group would just give Mr. Aquino’s first year performance an average grade because nothing happened to his anticorruption campaign and his private-public partnership programs.

“No one has been prosecuted in his anti-corruption drive. I do not see any progress in his PPP programs. But we are going to give him a chance,” he said.

Southern Leyte Rep. Roger Mercado gave the administration a grade of 75, saying there was no concrete framework where the country would be going.

“He may have the best intention in purging corruption but it is wanting in immediate solutions,” Mercado said.

JUDGE AND BE JUDGED

Luke 6:37)"Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven"

We as people are so fast to push the blame and even faster to say" Oh woe be unto me everyone always judging me and condemning me all the time oh what will I ever do" here is the simple solution...

(Luke 6:37)"Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven" If you will stop judging and condemning others then you wouldn't feel that way when someone looks at you oddly.

The next big issue is, "Why do everyone give me a cold shoulder and never give me a simple smile?"

This next verse is widely used for giving offerings and tithes but it can also be used in this case

(Luke 6:38)"Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."

If you walk around with your nose in the air and never smile at anyone, don't expect others to treat you any differently, sometimes it’s just a smile that you give someone or a simple word of Hello, that along will change someone’s life and day when you work so hard to keep your salvation and you feel a breakthrough coming on Satan will throw tactics in your way to make you stumble, but stand fast and hold your ground, Believe your heavenly Father and he'll come through for you every time.

A WALK WITH JESUS

When we walk with Jesus we are going to experience all kinds of different things. We will lose friends and family because we turn from our wicked ways.

(2 Chronicles 7:14) "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

When WE finally decide to truly turn from our wicked ways and follow him full time and stop just being a "Part-time Lover" you will see such a great and dramatic change in your life, you'll start seeing things in a new light. We focus too much on the how’s and when’s and ifs in life when we really should be focused on God. Recognize your problem but never dwell on it life is to short, you can have your way God has made us all free moral agents and responsible for our own actions either serve him or Satan

(John 5:30) "I can of mine own SELF do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."

(Luke 16:13)" No servant can SERVE TWO MASTERS: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

To be a Christian is a choice that we choose, to be a saved Christian is another story. I’ve met many people that said they were Christians and be in bars and night clubs on the weekends and never show evidence of even knowing Jesus. We have too many of these popcorn Christians that will pop in Sunday and then you might see them again on Easter or the church homecoming.

We need more Jobs in the church, someone who will fight the fight of faith and stick in there when all hell is raging against you, when you are dealing with unpaid bills and on the verge of losing your home and your vehicle but most of all your mind, the bible says to

“Be still and know that I am God” (Psalms 46:10)

It takes a sold out man or woman of God to really stand in and endure the afflictions of this world.

There were times when we all wanted to give up and call it quits but we knew that God had a purpose for our life and so we hung in and clung to the cross with our entire mite.

THE OUT BREAK

When a person has been fighting a battle with depression or addiction it is SO hard to really trust in God. When you are lonely or you put yourself in a place to be lonely, you will find that you are vulnerable to anything and anyone, that’s why it is so important to stay, prayed up and keep the line of communication open between you and God.

1. COMMUNICATION IS EVERYTHING

I. No matter who you are, rather you are a husband and wife or just dating always

Keep your communications open so that you both can get closer and better know one another.

II. God wants to hear from you on a daily basis, not just when you want...Money, Help, and Blessings. When you are out

driving strike up a conversation with Jesus, let him know that he is or at least better be your everything, he wants you to tell him you love him, worship him.

2. GOD DOESN'T TAKE BACKSEAT

I. When you are going through life and all the sudden you feel alone, just take time to think... "Did I put God in the Back seat"? So many times we get our blessing and within a couple weeks are all down and sad. Trust that God is in control and knows what you have need of in your life.

3. THE GREAT ASSIMENT

I. When we trust In God to rule

Our life we always seem to think that he needs our help, the fact of the matter is he is God and he doesn’t need our help. Only he knows what we have need of in our life.

(Matt 6:8 ...Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father know what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. II. When Abraham brought his son to be sacrificed he was trusting in God to send the ram. But, with him not really knowing anything he took him in faith, as they went to worship and be sacrificed.

In Life God will ask you to sacrifice something so precious to you just like Abraham did with Isaac, when this time comes always know that God will make the way and provide everything. As they approached the place where the sacrifice would take place he told the boy to stay with the donkey as the lad and I go up to worship and come again (Genesis 22:5)

When God sees that you are truly dedicated to him and his word he will ALWAYS bless you when it’s all said and done, just as he did with Abraham. As Abraham brought the wood for the burnt offering and laid it upon Isaac his son and they went up just the two. At this point it would be safe to say that Isaac was wandering where the ram was, they had fire and they had a knife.

See, we will come to a place where we need a move of God and we are really depending on God to provide no matter the circumstances, If you have any children then you can probably understand

Abrahams thoughts, his only son, his only seed to carry his name through the generations to come and he was about to kill him...

T H E M O D E L L I F E

In doing anything, it is always well to have a

model by which to fashion our work. In fact,

nothing is done without a pattern, either real

or imaginary. The little boy making a toy has in in

his mind a model by which he is framing his work.

Likewise, the sculptor has in his mind a

model, and as the "marble wastes, the image

To live this one life of ours as it should be lived, we must have a perfect model after which to pattern. Thank God, this perfect model of life can be found. Of all the vast number of lives that have been lived since Adam down to this present day, there has been only one that we can take as a model. This one is the life of Jesus. He says, "I am the life." To live this life of ours well, to live it to the highest degree of perfection, we must fashion it according to the glorious life of Christ. The life of Jesus is the model life for every other human life. He invites us, yea, commands us, to follow him, to step in his steps, to walk as he walked.

There have been many good men in the world, but none of them afford us a true pattern of life. There was a man who said, "Be ye followers of me," but he immediately added, "even as I also am of Christ." Man may so live as to reveal to us the life of Christ. We can then follow, not them, but the Christ-life they manifested through them.

say hereafter. The grandest, noblest work man has ever done is by his life to reveal the life of Christ to another, thereby helping that person to be fashioned more after the image of Jesus. A little flower grew in a place so shaded that no ray from the sun could fall directly upon it. A window was so situated that at a certain time in the afternoon it refracted the sun's rays and threw them upon the flower, thus giving it color and beauty, and aiding it to bloom. Some people are living in the dense shade. No light from Christ has ever shined upon them. If you so live as to refract the life of Christ and turn it upon them and thus stamp upon them a holier life, you have not lived in vain. To set the life of Christ in its purity and beauty before some one and influence him, though only a little, to live better and love Jesus more, is a work the worth of which can never be computed. He who helps another to a better way of living does more than he who gains great worldly honor and riches. Blessed indeed is that life which causes some other life to be more like Christ. Oh, may this thought seize upon our hearts and fill us with a greater passion to live the life of God.

We are told by the voice of Scripture to be "followers of God as dear children." When children are dear to the heart of the parent, he loves to have them obey him. God's children are dear to him, and he would have them follow him. To follow God is to imitate him, or be like him. This is the true way of life.

A text of Scripture as rendered by the Revised Version is very appropriate here: "Like as he which has called you is holy, be ye yourselves also holy in all manner of living." 1 Pet. 1:15. Only those who live godly in their entire manner of life are spending the days of their pilgrimage as they should. Jesus has walked the true way of life; we are told to walk in his steps. If we will step each day just where Jesus stepped,

looking back, we can not see a footprint of our own; but if we take a single misstep, our footprint will show our departure from the true way of life. How deep and awful are the words of Scripture wherein we are commanded to walk even as "Jesus walked"! Jesus says, "I am the way." There is no other right and perfect way. If we will walk as Jesus walked, then we shall walk in the true path of life. This only is the pathway that leads up to the golden gates of glory and the sweet fields of heaven. That bright world of bliss encourages us on. If we will follow Jesus and live as he lived, God's approval will be upon us, and his outstretched hand will help us along life's way and finally over the turbulent river of death to the sunlit shore of eternal rest.

Many times we may become wearied and think the toils of the way almost too heavy; but when we remember that it is the way that Jesus trod, then the heavens open to our view, we look forward to the mansion prepared for us, and the toils of the way grow lighter.

See that aged pilgrim journeying down the western slope of life. The sun is nearing the setting. Long and toilsome has been his pilgrimage, but he has walked in the path his Savior trod. For many years his life has been hid with Christ in God. In Him he has lived and moved and had his being. Now he is making his last step on the shore of time; he passes out of our sight through the gates into that land where toils are ended and the sun never sets. But his life was the life of Jesus. He was holy as God is holy; he walked as Jesus walked. This is how to live. This is the true way of life and the only way to life eternal. He who does not live with Christ on earth can not live with him in heaven, and he who does not live as Jesus lived does not live as he should. The life of Christ was the perfect life. Ours is perfect to the degree that we imitate him.

What are identical twins?

A general stereotype about identical twins is that they are clones. They act alike, look alike, and are expected to be "identical." However, the term identical twins actually refers to a type of twinning, and describes how they form, not what they look like.

The correct term for identical twinning is monozygotic. Monozygotic twins form from a single (mono) fertilized egg (zygote). The zygote splits into two parts after conception, resulting in the development of two individual embryos. Because the two embryos are the result of a single egg/sperm combination, they have the same genetic origins. They have the same DNA.
